Life under lockdown 3.0

The prolonged lockdown here began in mid of May. Since then, my outing requiring driving has been restricted to once a week to stock up on groceries. I am also lucky enough to have a neighbour who is interested in renting one of my parking spots, bringing me extra income, which is utmost important during this work from home period of time. A haircut was squeezed in at the very last minute, on the day before “total lockdown”.
As a teacher, working from home means I have to cancel a few days of classes in which online teaching is not feasible. Other classes remain online 1-to-1, in either morning, afternoon or evening. For this industry, any form of lockdown, total or partial, we will have to work from home.
Most of my lessons are 1-to-1 private coaching, so they are all “working as usual”. This lockdown has prompted me to move the whole teaching place into one of the spare rooms. I continue to juggle between Kindle and Netflix during my free time. From a personal user account, we have upgraded Netflix plan to 5 users’ account. My mum can now binge watch her Korean Drama on Netflix.
We had cases reported in close vicinity and causing nearby supermarkets to close down for sanitisation. My regular places all experienced such. Home cooked food and food delivery remain as ways to sustain life. My shopping list becomes monotonous. Once in a while, I add something exciting to the list just to make life more flavourful.
For wellness, I have started home workout as gym is no longer an option. My previous 12-month gym membership went straight into the endless drain of pandemic, ever so quietly. In order to really workout at home, I have given myself reasons to bring in more gym toys. New additions include a 6kg barbell, two 1.5kg weight plates and a pilates arc. They are all for a good reason, as I often tell myself. Once to twice a week, I also take the initiative of getting some outdoor exercise done. I will walk to the park nearby and have a slow jog. Playing with Photoshop trial version, I did some doodling and completed the image below from a photo taken in the park on one evening.
